Alexander Markvart - muzyk awangardowy, członek grup teatralnych, organizator festiwali i wydarzeń kulturalnych. Jest multiinstrumentalistą. Pracuje na polu wielu gatunków muzycznych od radykalnej improwizacji, poprzez noise, hardcore, aż po muzykę komponowaną, minimal techno i post-folk.
Founder of such polystylistic musical formations as Studio of Unconscious Music (SUM) and Siberian Improvisation Company (SIC). Also in different years is a member of another experimental bands - Inorganic Blossoming, PSVSV, Cherubs, Importunate Twins, Sekta Phoenix. Works and plays concerts in various projects with different musicians: Edyta Fil (Poland), Ilia Belorukov, Sergei Letov, Nikolai Rubanov, Alexei Borisov, Léon (Switzerland), Plaistow (Switzerland), Stefano Ferrian (Italy), Simone Quatrana (Italy), Gleb Uspensky, Boris Afanasyev, Sergei Lavlinsky, Max Evstropov, Dmitri Smirnov, Stanislav Makovsky, Nikolai Chrust, ByZero, St.Petersburg Improvisers Orchestra and others.
In 2012, with SUM & SIC projects Alexander performed the first russian tour. Participated in international musical festivals "Long Arm fest" (Moscow) and "APosition" (Spb). The fall of 2012 performed Poland and Latvian tour with Ilia Belorukov.
Also in 2011, Markvart became one of the founders of independent label / art group "Akt-Produkt".
